Happy 21st birthday double mint twin!!

I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about one of my best friends, Katelyn Diana Kincer. This girl has been one of my best friends since the day we met. We met on the beach one day and instantly became like sisters. The first day we met we walked down the beach for hours and talked like we had known each other for years and years.
Katelyn and I met right before high school. She was only like 12 going into high school, so I played the big sister role. Never was I going to let anyone mess with her. I am awfully nice but when you mess with my loved ones, the toughness tends to come out of me. In high school, we were known as the “double mint twins.” We were inseparable. If we were not with each other, something was wrong. We cheered together on JV and Varsity and she also came with me to dance at Wanda’s School of Dance like every day, so she was pretty much considered a member there as well. Hehe.
Katelyn is one of the few friends who has been with Devin and I during our entire relationship. She was actually sitting right beside me when I met Devin for the first time. She and I went on our first “double date” with Devin and his high school best friend to the putt putt Devin use to work at. We both just knewwww we had found the love of our lives that night. (little did I know that I would actually be marrying the cute little blond headed boy I played putt putt against that night haha) She has gotten to see the good, the bad, and the ugly to our relationship. Devin has always looked to Katelyn as a little sister. Our life without her would have had a lot of holes in it. She has been right by our side throughout the last 8 years.
Katelyn and I are both very close with our families. For instance…My sister always loved and offered to drive Katelyn and I up and down the road at all hours of the day (hope you sense my sarcasm hehe).  But really, she was like a little sister to my sister as well. If Katelyn wasn’t at my house my mom would always ask where her other child was. The situation is the same with myself and her family. Her mom always took us to the beach and as aggravating as it must have been, she never complained or acted like it was a burden to have to haul us around. As I look back on all those times she took out of her busy days, I am so thankful for the family I also gained with her friendship. Her mom is such a mentor to me and I look up to her so much. She has inspired me to be where I am today.
There are things that Katelyn has seen and knows about my life that no one else in the world will ever know about. She stood by my side during some of the most difficult times in my life, and I could never repay her for that. The countless hours of staying up late talking, crying, laughing, giggling, etc. I will never forget.
As we have had to grow up over the years, our friendship has never faded. I know there is never a day where I can’t pick up my phone and give her a call. She is one of the truest friends you will ever meet.  If you’re ever lucky enough to have a best friend like Katelyn Kincer….you’re lucky enough.
From getting all dolled up for prom, to now getting ready for weddings, I am so happy to have her stand with me on my big day. She and her mom will both be a major part of that special day in my life. I know as Katelyn and I continue our lives as adults we will always be as close as we are right now. I love you my double mint twin!
