Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while… This past month has been
so busy, crazy, and exciting!
On May the 9th, I graduated from ECU College of
Nursing! What a surreal feeling it is to be finished with nursing school. These
past four years have been challenging but so rewarding. I love reflecting back
on all of my clinical time and seeing how much I have grown as a nurse in such
a short amount of time. I can’t wait to begin my career as a pirate nurse!
The weekend after graduation Devin and I had our first
official wedding shower! I was so humbled by all of the people that came and
showered us with gifts for our future home. Receiving gifts that I know Devin
and I will use in our home one day sends so much excitement throughout me! The
shower was thrown by some of Mrs. Susie’s closest girlfriend’s, Mrs. Jane, Mrs.
Teresa, Mrs. Connie, Mrs. Pattie, Mrs. Chellie, and Mrs. Robin. These women
have become such a huge part of my life. Since I started dating Devin in high
school, I have been surrounded with love by these crazy ladies! They are such a
bundle of fun when you stick them together and I promise you that you will
never have a dull moment with them. I love the relationship these ladies share
and the bond that they have with one another.
We had some of the yummiest food at the shower. They catered
to how Devin and I like to eat. We had lots of fruits and veggies, meat balls
and chicken wings, lemonade punch that you could probably drink a GALLON of
because it was so good, and some of the BEST cupcakes in the world made by
Copper and Chloe Cupcakes out of Leland, NC. The kind of cupcakes we had were
chocolate, vanilla, and a strawberry shortcake with a strawberry and moose
cream in the middle. Okay, if you know anything about people from the
south…ANYTHING strawberry shortcake isn’t going to last long so if you didn’t
grab one on your first go around….you probably didn’t get one!
Of course we had to play a couples game. Devin’s brother
Drew made out a list of questions, turned Devin and I back to back, and made us
exchange one shoe. Whichever person the question matched the most, you raised
their shoe. I think after 7 years of dating we did pretty well, but we did miss
some! Here are some of the ones we missed…
Who says I’m sorry first after a fight? (we are both always
right so this was a trick question)
Who is more likely to give the other food poisoning? ( I
think he’s just scared of my healthy cooking, hehe)
Who wears the pants in the relationship? (ut oh….)
Who is more likely to be running late? (we are both always
late together so this was also a trick
question)
Who is more likely to deal with a spider in the house? (HE
SAID ME! Come on now Devin…you know I’ll point the spider out and yell for you.
THAT is how a woman deals with a spider.)
Let me tell you about my BRIDAL PORTRAITS!!!! I cannot even
begin to explain how perfect my experience was with taking bridal portraits. We
had the most beautiful day, perfect weather, and now I just want to play in my
dress all day, every day. Amber Rhodes was my photographer and she is just
amazing. I am so blessed to have her being a part of my wedding! Kayla Cheers
did my hair and let me tell you… SHES PHENOMINAL. I could not have been any
happier with the way my hair turned out! My sister did my makeup. I was going to
go have it done, but my sister knows me best. She has been doing my makeup
since our dancing days and prom days so she knows how I like it! My mom and
sister went with me to have my portraits done. I am so happy it was just the
two of them there. They are my two BEST FRIENDS and I couldn’t have asked
for better support that day. I really I don’t know what I would have done
without my sister there. From her helping get me in my dress, to helping me get
the grasshoppers out of my dress, she made my day so much easier. I cannot WAIT
to return the favor to her when she does her bridal portraits! It has been so
fun planning weddings together. Now that I am officially done with school, let
the wedding planning/festivities begin!
On June the 2nd,
I took one of the most important tests of my LIFE. The dreadful NCLEX. I left
there in tears because I just knew I failed it. I have a real problem of
doubting myself. After I took the test, Devin had a day full of fun events
planned to keep me occupied because I had to wait 48 hours on my test results.
We started out by eating lunch at this healthy little dine in place called Epic
Food Company in Wilmington. We then went out to Wrightsville beach to lay out.
Yall all know how Devin is when it comes to “laying out,” so after we both took
a short nap on the beach we went for a walk. He walked me down to the prayer
mailbox at the end of Wrightsville Beach. We both wrote a prayer in the note
pad that is inside of the mailbox. If you have never been down there, I
recommend it! It was such a beautiful experience writing a prayer to God and
leaving it. A lot of times we pray prayers about a certain situation and then
keep worrying about. This prayer mailbox in my opinion is a great way to look
at how to pray. Write your prayer down, give it to God, and leave it to him
After we left the beach, we went down to Port City Crossfit.
One of our high school friends Katelyn Humbert is a trainer there so we decided
to go and take a class from this crossfit. We had so much fun and got an
awesome workout in. I just started crossfit not too long ago at Crossfit Ocean
Isle Beach and I am already hooked. I love the community of people and I love
working out with Devin on team days because he pushes me and I push him right
back! You know what they say….those who work out together, stay together.
Hehehe
And after the LONGEST 48 hours of my entire life…I got my
results back from the NCLEX. I PASSED!!! I am officially Haley Ann Enzor, BSN,
RN. What a humbling feeling it is to have those letters behind my name. I pray
that I always seek God's will for me in my profession and profess his love to
all of my patients through my nursing care.
That kind of sums up the events going on in our life right
now. Being just four short months away from becoming Mrs. Sellers is so
exciting. Now is the time where Devin and I get to focus on US. We have started
talking about the ceremony, making our wedding crafts, trying to find the right
music, and just trying to make the most out of our last couple of months as an
ENGAGED COUPLE! We will be starting premarital counseling soon and I know we
both have a lot of learning to do. I can’t wait to grow closer to Devin and to
God throughout our counseling! I’m sure I will have lots to talk about after
our first one so I will be sure to keep you all posted!
